This really is a wonderful book. The author writes in a very entertaining manner making science fun for everyone. Len Fisher explores how everyday tasks work from a scientific angle and really provides a fun refresher on the things you didn’t take the time to learn in your high school science classes.

The chapter on how to boil an egg for example was good. though the concepts are well known to most chefs the underlying reasons are often ignored. This is the mind set of most people and is probably a reason you have not heard about this book. For those of us whom love understanding how things work and the science behind anything and everything it is a great book. For those whom do not enjoy such things it would most likely make for a boring reading experience.

I recommend this book to those whom enjoy physics and science, the inquisitive types. Anyone else should steer clear.
