I am on a public computer which lets ads run free. On my private computer I have ad blocking software and only a little bit of ads bypass the filters. It is amazing just how riddled webpages are with ads when there is no blocking mechanism.

I can't pity the idea of websites losing their funding when I am bombarded with a bunch of offensive political ads.

I mean I go to youtube and not only are they riddled all over the side of the page but then they are also in there as a commercial on the actual video. It is crazy!!!

That is why I like my personal computer better because I can block the commercials in the youtube video.

They can cry about the money thing all the want but if they want me to turn off adblocking then all these website need to remain political free or better yet, as ad free as possible.

Great write up, Id like to add another option for handling host files that I have implemented across my network. It's called Hostman and can be found here: http://www.abelhadigital.com/

It works great and allows for you hosts file to be disabled if you say run into a trouble site where something is not showing when you want it to (myspace, prezhilton, and others).

Great post though man. Everyone needs to check this out.
